As an assignment in an introductory video production and editing course, we were tasked with creating a short documentary-style film. Immediately when the project was introduced, I knew what my topic was going to be. Growing up on a horse ranch in Manitoba, I've always been passionate about the lifestyle that my family leads, and I take every opportunity to promote it to the world. This assignment provided perfect opportunity to showcase my parents and the business that they have built through passion and dedication.

Fortunately, the assignment details were provided before our semester break, so I was able to capture necessary interviews and b-roll footage while I was at home. There were a few shots that I had been planning, and a few that were just happy accidents, and I'm really pleased with how it all came together. This was a first exploration into documentary film for me, and I'm excited about the potential this avenue has as a way to feature agricultural business and families.
